    The Claims Manager at MedSpeed will oversee the end-to-end casualty claim process for MedSpeed.  In addition to the effective processing of claims, this role will be involved in the development and implementation of workers’ compensation related policies, procedures, and strategies that ensure compliance with state regulations and achieve organizational goals. The Manager will collaborate with internal stakeholders, insurance carriers, legal counsel, and external agencies to manage claims efficiently, promote workplace safety initiatives, and reduce costs. Success in this position requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and interpersonal skills.

    What you will be doing as a Claims Manager at MedSpeed: 

    • Lead and contribute to the day-to-day casualty claims handling process from initiation to resolution, ensuring timely and accurate processing. 
    • Develop and implement workers' compensation policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with state regulations and organizational safety objectives. 
    • Collaborate with insurance carriers, third-party administrators, legal counsel, and HR to investigate and evaluate claims, negotiate settlements, and represent the organization in hearings and appeals. 
    • Monitor and analyze casualty claim trends, costs, and performance metrics through reporting and KPIs. 
    • Provide guidance and support to employees, supervisors, and managers on workers' compensation-related matters, including injury reporting, return-to-work programs, and disability accommodations. 
    • Develop and deliver training programs and educational materials to promote awareness of workers' compensation policies, safety protocols, and injury prevention strategies. 
    • Conduct regular audits and assessments of workplace hazards, ergonomic factors, and safety protocols to identify and address potential risks and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards. 
    • Stay current with changes in workers' compensation laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and adapt policies and procedures accordingly. 
    • Prepare and present reports, recommendations, and updates on workers' compensation activities and performance to senior management and executive leadership. 
    • Work to promote company culture.

    What you need to become a MedSpeed Claims Manager:

    Experience and Education Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, HR, Risk Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field is preferred. 
    • Professional certification (e.g., Certified Workers' Compensation Professional - CWCP) is preferred. 
    • Minimum 5 years of overall professional experience, workers’ compensation and auto liability claim environments preferred. 
    • Knowledge of multi-state workers' compensation laws, regulations, and compliance requirements at the state/federal levels. 
    • Attention to detail and willingness to support the day-to-day execution of claims management. 
    • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience managing teams, projects, and initiatives in a complex and dynamic environment. 
    • Team-oriented with good organization, customer service, and problem-solving skills. 
    • Excellent written and oral communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees, management, external partners, and regulatory agencies. 
    • Ability to interpret data, trends, and metrics to drive decision-making. 
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including strong aptitude in Microsoft Excel for reporting and ad-hoc analysis

     

    Compensation Statement

    The salary range is $90,000 - $110,000 annually and dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, MedSpeed offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and company performance.
